Advantages of a PRI

As your business grows and expands, you may need to reevaluate your local communications infrastructure.  If your business currently uses eight or more copper trunks, you may want to consider some cost-saving alternatives, such as a PRI.  A PRI, provided by your local carrier, is an alternative means of carrying call traffic that offers many advantages over standard telephone lines. With a PRI, your data and voice traffic will share channels on the same “pipe”—a convergence that will save your company money.  Another advantage of a PRI is the option of direct inward dialing (DID).  With DID, employees can be assigned individual telephone numbers that will ring straight to their personal extensions.  Routing calls this way will relieve your operator of the potential heavy call volume allowing her more time to tackle additional tasks.
