ATCOM Gives Back: February 2019
ATCOM is proud to Give Back to a community that has given so much to us. Here are a few things we have been up to recently.
David Finch will participate in the 14th annual Ocracoke Firemen’s Ball this Memorial Day weekend. The all-volunteer, all-donations event typically raises about $70,000 in just one day for Ocracoke’s Volunteer Fire Department. David participates through a variety of methods outside of just contributions including putting on a concert featuring the Dune Dogs, helping with the auction and cooking BBQ. They typically cook over 750 lbs of pulled pork BBQ and 200 Racks of Ribs.
Mike King will participate in the Swing and Shuck Golf tournament on March 23rd. All proceeds go to benefit CPALS (Carolina Pediatric Attention Love and Support at UNC Hospitals).
Tommy Haughton in conjunction with BLOC raised $25K by having a bowling tournament for the “Autism after 18” non-profit organization and $15k for the Charlotte Area Fund to distribute to 10 families Christmas Wish list. Each single mom family got gift cards for holiday meals and wrapped gifts based off of their wish list.
Chris Strandberg sponsored and participated in the Zero Prostate Cancer Run/Walk to end Prostate Cancer in November. As a cancer survivor Chris hopes to bring awareness to the fact that one in eight American men will get prostate cancer during his lifetime. It is the third leading cause of cancer related deaths in men.
Jeff Morgart and the Charlotte Succession Group participated in Beds for Kids where they filled a home with furniture of a great grandmother who had 4 grand-kids living in her home. None of the children had beds and were sharing the sofa to sleep on. They also participated in West Blvd Ministries delivering Christmas Trees and Gifts to 16 needy families in West Charlotte.
